We are rebuilding
During the spring and summer of 2026, we will be building a new square in the area. At the same time, Umeå Municipality will review the pedestrian and bicycle path between Akademileden and Tvistevägen.
For a long time, we have been exploring the possibilities of creating a place where you and your neighbors can meet, socialize, and feel at home – and we are now pleased to finally bring that vision to life.
The goal is to develop the area into a safe, vibrant, and welcoming environment that fosters a stronger sense of community and well-being. As part of this project, Umeå Municipality will also review the route of the bicycle path to improve accessibility and create a more sustainable and safer traffic environment.
According to our schedule, construction will begin in week 17 and is expected to be completed by the end of the summer.
How will this affect you?
The construction work will involve some noise and limited accessibility, but we will do everything we can to minimize the impact on your daily life.
During the construction period, pedestrian and vehicle routes may need to be redirected. Alternative entrances will be arranged when necessary.
